About me
Sharron Atkins
Originally from Yorkshire, I have lived in Kent for 25 years and consider it my home: I love the beautiful villages, the beaches and coastline and the warmer weather!
After more than 25 years in a senior corporate role in Marketing and Advertising, I had a life-changing year in 2024 when I lost my beloved husband, Colin, suddenly. It totally changed my outlook on life, and I realised I wanted to do something more ‘personal’ with my life, but wasn’t sure what!
A few months later my son got married in the most beautiful venue with gorgeous gardens, super music and spectacular food …. but the ceremony itself was just a bit short and didn’t make the most of the couple. They had used a council Registrar, and were restricted to what they could say within the time allotted. That’s when I realised that becoming a Celebrant would enable me to help people make the most amazing memories, and enrich their wedding day by adding music, laughter, symbolism…. Whatever they wanted from such a special day.
In my spare time, I walk a lot with Barry my rescue whippet; for such a little chap he can wander for miles! I love cooking, started a Book Club from which I have made life-long friends, and see family a lot.
I’m lucky enough to do this ‘job’ because I want to, and you can’t beat that for a great feeling that is infectious! I hope you will find me warm, enthusiastic but organised, and certainly invested in making your day extraordinary.
Sharron
