Everyone wants their wedding day to be special, unique to them, and remembered for all the right reasons. You have probably thought long and hard about everything from the flowers (which colour, how many, gosh this is getting expensive!), to the venue (is it big enough/small enough? What’s the food like?) and the smaller details like favours, cars and whether Aunt Mabel can manage the stairs.
But have you thought much about the ceremony itself?
“It’s the same for everyone isn’t it?”
Well actually, the answer is no, not if you use a Celebrant.
Using a Council-appointed Registrar has restrictions on the time they can give you and the words that can/must be said during the ceremony. However with a Celebrant, there are no such limits, we can sculpt the day to suit you.
For example, there’s no limit on time; if you want to include a cast of hundreds, have music played at certain points, friends reading poems, involve your children (or pets!), then you have all the time you want.
There’s also the opportunity to try something ‘different’ such as candle lighting, sand blending (ask me!), tree planting, or hand binding. A Celebrant will work with you to make sure the ceremony itself reflects your personalities and vision for the day.
It’s also the ideal way to personalise your Vows, which are restricted in ‘traditional’ weddings. You still say ‘I do’ but the world is your oyster to be as creative, sincere, romantic or theatrical as you want.
Think about it! All that time planning, all that expense and stress……. the main event needs to be just right!
